Plantain Fritters

Most of you might be familiar with pazham pori. Plantain fritters are for those who wants to try something different with plantains. Its very easy to make and can be served as an evening snack.

What all you'll need?

  • Ripe Plantain - 2
  • Milk - 3 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 5 tablespoon
  • Cornflour - 5 tablespoon
  • Cardamom Powder - 2 teaspoon
  • Oil - As required for deep frying

Let's cook it!!

  1. Mash plantains really well In a bowl . Add milk to the plantain and mix well.
  2. To the mixture add sugar, cornflour and cardamom powder and mash it until everything is mixed well.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Drop the plantain mixture in spoonful to the oil in batches. Wait for a couple of minutes until the fritters turn golden brown. Turn the fritters to the other side and repeat the same process.
  4. Transfer the fritters to a paper towel for the oil to drain.
Hot plantain fritters are ready to be served. If you don't want to deep fry, you can prepare the batter on a hot greased griddle just as the way you make pancakes.
