Eggless Chocolate Cake

One of the most easy cake to make in a microwave for any chocoholic:) The cake will be ready in 15-20 minutes. Whenever I have a craving for chocolate, I usually go for this instant cake.

Cook Time:

15 Minutes

Ease of Cooking:

Easy

What all you'll need?

  • All purpose Flour - 2 cups
  • Cocoa Powder - 1/3 cup
  • Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1.5 - 2 cups (depending on how sweet you want)
  • Yogurt/Curd - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil/Butter - 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla Essence - 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Milk - 1/3 cup

Let's cook it!!

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix all purpose flour, cocoa and baking soda well. Using a strainer, sieve all the powders so that everything will be mixed well.
  2. Add sugar, yogurt, the sieved mixture, salt, oil/butter, vanilla essence and milk to the bowl. Mix them well until it forms a semi thick batter.
  3. Grease a microwave safe bowl with oil or butter. I used a Rose Flower shaped silicone cake bowl. Transfer the batter to the bowl. If you are using a silicone pan, you can avoid greasing the pan.
  4. Microwave for about 6 minutes in a high powered microwave oven. Depending on the power of your microwave, baking time varies. To check whether it's fully baked, insert a tooth pick to the cake. A non sticky clean tooth pick confirms that the cake is ready.
Serve it hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

If you're a real chocolate lover like me, add 3-4 tablespoons of dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips to the batter. Adding nuts like almonds and cashew enhances the flavor of the cake.
